Rudy Giuliani, Mitt Romney, and John McCain clamor to out-Reagan each other in their rush to prove their conservative credentials.Instead of believing in America, they put party before country, and believe that the worship of Saint Ronny will cast some kind of magic spell for them.This political cartoon parodies the iconic image of the raising of the flag at Iwo Jima during WW II.... The American flag still makes an appearance here, but it's used only to nail Reagan to the cross.... It shows the many layers of perversion of the modern Republican Party, not the least of which being the irony that, even within the context of their own misplaced ideals, they are still grasping, because none of the Repub candidates are even in the mold of Reagan's conservatism in the first place. Giuliani is a pro-choice, pro-gay rights cross-dressing hot-head, Mitt Romney is a Mormon (which a size-able chunk of the Republican fundamentalist base views as a Satanic cult), and McCain is a flip-flopper who claims to be a straight-talking maverick, though all he ever does is capitulate and suck on George W.
