Politics Or Something Like It: The HERITAGE FOUNDATION -- More like the HERETIC FOUNDATION!

...Honestly, I am so sick and tired of being "sick and tired" of one Heritage Foundation (HF) and their antiquated views.  Please, HF, just go away.  What you preach and teach does no good for anyone.  It does not help women by any means; it mostly hurts us.  It just disturbs me how your panel, mostly composed of GOP women whom I have never heard of, can say such ignorant and untruthful things.  Feminism is not bad for this country.  Reports have proved otherwise that feminism has been very positive for the plight of women, not just in this awesome country of ours (yay, USA), but it has been wonderful for women all around the world.  I am a proud feminist!
Oh, but how we women still have so much more to go to get the same respect, treatment and pay as our male counterparts, but that is a topic for another day.  Today I mainly want to focus on the HF and their misguided views and how they stupidly pass around their views for anyone who is not for the progress of women to just lap up.  Misogynistic pigs that the HF often is.  Seriously, do they just think so little of women or do they just think that we are all that stupid.  I must respond to their silly-little-views that they are so wrong.
What gets to me even more is that they have their own women spewing this nonsense around about how women should aspire to marry, have children, keep a clean home, to be submissive to their men-folk.  Yeah, right!  I have nothing against women getting married, but in doing so, I hope that they follow their own dreams.  I hope that when women do marry that they do not allow the dreams of their partner to become their own or to over-shadow their own dreams.  My hope is that for women to always marry someone that they truly love, admire and respect; a person who reciprocates their own views.
The HF wants women to get married so that they can in turn become part of the GOP just like their husbands.  Sad-to-say, many women who do get married often lose perspective, and instead of forming their own opinions, they seek to their husbands as guides.  Blind guides I must add.  Plus, the HF hates the LGBT community and will never approve same-sex marriage.  I am a proud member of the LGBT community and for reasons I choose, I cannot support anything that stems from the HF!
I do not personally know women who have completely changed their views after they got married.  My mom was as passionate about politics and other things as I was.  She had her own views and was steadfast with those views, and she never allowed anyone, let alone her own misogynistic, GOP-loving,  brother, to dissuade her from her views.  My mom was, is and always will be my hero.
In my family we are mostly Democrats.  I am more of a Centrist.  We seek the political party that will most benefit and protect us; for us it is the Democratic party.  Which reminds me to add that the GOP does NOT have ownership of religion, morals, financial responsibility, etc..  The left-side and the center (as I am) political spectrum all have the same ideologies.  We all want to be happy, successful, mindful, plus, we do not want to have our freedoms impeded in any manner.  The left may not be as gun-toting-happy at our friends on the right, but we do believe in our Constitutional rights "to bear arms" when done in a smart, sound manner.
Left, right or in the middle we all want the same things in life, we just have a very different approach to obtaining it.  However, I must reiterate that we place our future in danger when certain people use their bully-pulpit(s) to try to keep people down.  The HF is in grave danger of doing such a thing to women if we do not stand up against them.
In my family we are also strong believers in education, politicking, and success.  We believe that we are all equal.  That idea stemming from our parents who encouraged us to treat everyone the same, but to never succumb to anyone or anything that tried to hold us back.  Women are very important in our family, and for that, I am proud.  A loud, proud, Latina, LGBT person.

Politics Or Something Like It: Defining Millennial and How Millennial Are You!

Millennial: a person born in the 1980s 1990s usually in the United States; generation Y.
A group which is extremely important to modern-day politics.  A group I love and try with great fervor to entice towards the left or center of politics.  Anywhere along the political spectrum as long as they give a damn and get involved with things happening in this world.  They are going to be running or ruining our great country one day.  The time to give a damn is now --tomorrow is much too late in some areas.  A group which often also scares me and tugs at my heart in a negative manner; they cause me great perplexity.  Why?  Because they are often too nonchalant with issues plaguing our country/our world.  They are vast in numbers, but too often neglect their civil duties and fail to show up to vote.  They might help campaign at great lengths, but when it comes time to vote...they are seldom nowhere to be found.  They are set to be the most educated generation in history.  But, they live in the new millennium where e-gadgets are readily available and they take them for granted.  They mistakenly think that not much is expected of them so they keep their noses wrapped around technology.  Seldom taking part in life; they would rather spend time texting, playing games, being part of social media.  A disappointing sense of entitlement enraptures their being.  You get the idea.  It's all good to do those things that they do for enjoyment, but as with everything in life, do so in moderation.  Hell, even I politick in moderation.  Only conversing with those who are open to talking with me about it.  I prefer to seek those who love politics as much as I do.  Otherwise it is not as much fun.  The nonchalant(s) will only capture my attention for a little while.  Not so much because they might bore me, but because I certainly do not want to be the reason for turning someone sour on the idea of politics, getting involved with government issues, and for Pete's sake, I dare not sour or tire anyone away from at least voting.
Like I have often voiced, politics is important to our country's well-being --in a sense.  Let me explain my stance from the beginning til now while trying not to be so wordy.  Since I was in my late teens, voting has always been important to me.  I will admit that when I first moved to San Antonio in the late 80s, it was the GOP that first took me under their wing, per se.  A scared, lonely person looking to fit somewhere.  I loved politics so I looked around and voila --the GOP.  The Dems were not as busy back then in trying to persuade me in their direction (blue and left).  The Reps made me feel like they were so much more inclusive.  WRONG!  So I did my bit as an unofficial member of the "Young Republicans of America".  I was a Reagan supporter...die-hard to boot.  Ugh, ignorant me.  But I did learn quite a lot from that entire experience.  It has helped shed light on my political views of late and especially been beneficial in debating issues having been on both aisles of the political spectrum.
Shamefully I stopped being political for a while during my stint as a San Antonian.  Too many things instead took priority and steered me away from doing my part, per se.  I met good people, made great friends, and having a good time became part of my world.  Maybe I stopped giving a damn about my civil duties while other things and people took priority in my life.  Thinking back...maybe I went awol from politics and such, but being young and fancy-free...I did what made me happy.  Something we all must do before the time to grow up arrives.  BTW, I would NOT trade any of it for the world.  The fact that I got lost and wandered away from politics for a while reminds me to be patient with our youth these days.  I must remember that these so-called millennial beings were not born jaded or blissfully-ignorant about politics, government and their futures...their parents were at the helm and often to blame.  Your kids after all are just little versions of you.  Nothing wrong with that, but at some point teaching them things that will help make them more productive citizens is going to be more important than being able to partake in things that are simply for fun.  Unless they are part of 'Geek World'.  Nothing wrong with that.  This person also takes pride in being part of geek world and of political science world.
Anyway, I stopped being red and right soon enough...took me years, but after the sour treatment via the GOP after I pounded the pavement for Republican candidates, I woke up.  I regret to say that I was not a Clintonite during Bill's first presidential bid/victory.  I was stupidly and instead helping campaign for the Independent guy (I refuse to write his name down).  I was a supporter of Bill Clinton in time to help him win re-election.
I continue to be a Centrist and hope that Hillary Clinton runs for president in 2016.  We are ready for that.  Ready to campaign like we did for her in 2008.  Ready to be "her" delegates if given the opportunity like in 2008.  This time not conceding to 'the other guy'.  Her votes will be 'her votes'.
I took the 'How Millennial Are You' quiz...my results as follows:

MSNBC Excerpt: Inside Clinton’s handling of Al Gore’s loss!

On Friday, two weeks after nearly 4,000 pages of documents from the Clinton White House were made public for the first time, the William J. Clinton Presidential Library posted a trove of additional documents for journalists and presidential history aficionados to scrutinize.

My Fearless Prediction: President Obama and VP Biden Will Win Re-election! Electoral College: POTUS Will Wind Up At About 303!

President Obama 303: In My Fearless Prediction, POTUS Wins Re-election and Reaches 303 In Electoral College.

November 5, 2012 - 10:29 PM (CDT)
NOTE:
In my fearless prediction, I say President Obama wins re-election and at least reaches 303 in the electoral college - the process not an actual place.  LOL!
If Florida's or Ohio's Republican Governors, Secretary(s) of State, and election officials don't muck things up as they have done in past years and most recently in weeks and days leading up to tomorrow's election, we should know by tomorrow night if President Obama will return to star as our champion in cause.  I say he wins because we are tired of the b/s and the lies spewed by the right and Romney's strong disconnect with the "47%", with women, with Latinos, with college students, with the middle class, with the poor and despondent, with the LGBT community, and with the elderly.  Pretty much the majority of this awesome country does not really like, trust, or understand Romney therefore we cannot support him thus we will not be voting for him.  There's no hate for him (not like the kind the right has for President Obama), we just do not 'get him' and that is his fault for being the biggest flip flopper of all time in politics and such a good liar.
Like I stated, we should-should-should know if POTUS wins re-election by tomorrow night, but everyone needs to get out and vote regardless of long voting lines and such.  We have seen voters in other states have to wait in long lines thanks to representatives and officials whom I referred to above but there they were waiting and in places where the voting places were shut down early for one stupid right-winged/GOP-led reason, the voters remained until the officials re-opened the election place.  Americans are strong and strong-willed and we will not be stifled or denied our rights.
Per the cartoon I drew on my Political Blog on October 6th, 2012...let's not forget Florida 2000.  You know the presidential election when one Gov Jeb Bush (W's brother) and Florida's SOS Katherine Harris purposely screwed up that presidential election which led to things ending badly for Al Gore who won the popular vote but because of the electoral college and Florida's muck-up, the U.S. Supreme Court "selected" George W. Bush as our 43rd president.  We need to vote and "elect" our president and not leave things up to any court to "select" one for us - not again!!!

2012 Presidential Election: Obama's "Last Hurrah"!: POTUS Gives Last Campaign Speech Of His Career In Iowa!

November 5, 2012 - 10:15 PM (CDT)
It was an awesome speech and an awesome event to witness for me if even from thousands of miles away via the television (MSNBC).  It was a somber yet uplifting speech.  Somber for me because it meant it would be the last time we would witness President Obama give a campaign speech but uplifting because he still has another shot at another four years to serve us and to make things way better for us than what the right does.
I realize that although for the last four years many of his ideas and promises have been thwarted (thanks to the right) and have taken longer to come to fruition and many not yet implemented or enacted, we still have someone like President Obama to champion for us.  Yep, he is our champion, our voice in Washington...for the left, even for the right, for the elderly, for the poor, for the middle class (which is decreasing), whether you support him or not, if you are not wealthy, this man is your champion - your advocate.  The hard-right, the Neo-cons, the wealthy...they have lobbyists and big money on their side to fight for their cause (which usually benefits the wealthy and only the wealthy) and to ensure that their ideologies and voices are heard and brought to fruition of some sort.  The rest of us need representation like that and if Mr. Obama wins re-election as I predict he will (E-303), it gives millions of us something to be uplifted for and another four years to look forward to as Obama will surely be more able to get more positive things done for the sake of our country.
Yes, indeed it was a wonderful speech to witness this late evening as President Obama gave thanks to the millions who have supported him for the last four arduous, difficult years.  But oh so uplifting as we heard him speak so eloquently and honestly about how his work - our work was in need of finishing as he asked for four more years.  At one time he quickly yet gently brushed aside a tear as he appeared to be fighting his emotional side from superseding his words, he reminisced about how it all began back during the primaries when few knew him much less how to pronounce his name.  It all began for him in Iowa in 2007/08 as his newbies to the political arena and himself began the trek at trying to just win the Democratic nomination first which was starting to look stark and all too daunting but his second wind literally and figuratively began thanks to his supporters and voters in Iowa.  Thanks to one supporter in Greenwood, Iowa Edith Childs he and his staff got their second wind through her battle cry known as: “Fired up! Ready to go!”!!!  We all know how things turned out and here we are again four years later ready to re-elect the best person for the job of POTUS!
It was a chilling experience, a good one because it literally gave me chills and inspiration as President Obama gave his final campaign speech of his career, but I reminded myself to keep things in perspective to that one fact because if things go as I believe, we will see President Obama in the Oval Office for four more years.  It was the campaign speeches for himself that has come to an end, his "last hurrah"...his work as POTUS has just begun for the next four years if voters do the best thing for our great nation tomorrow night and vote him back so we can all move "forward"!  Just as he was ending the speech, he did re-invigorate this supporter of his to get as Edith would say: “Fired up! Ready to go!”!!!
NOTE:
In my fearless prediction, I say President Obama wins re-election and at least reaches 303 in the electoral college - the process not an actual place.  LOL!

Love Them Dems: 2012 First Presidential Debate: Obama Vs. Romney: Elementary My Fellow Americans, Elementary...the A, B, C's Of This Debate!

The meaning of the A, B, C's (aloof, bored, caustic) per POTUS during the first presidential debate were at first unknown to us as we saw President Obama react so nonchalantly to the lies and punches that his opponent Mitt Romney kept throwing his way.  All we knew, and I stress "we" as a member of the Centrist voters who will be voting for Mr. Obama no matter what is that we waited the entire evening for POTUS to deliver a packing punch himself.  To go for the proverbial jugular or at the least to just mention the 47% of Americans whom were disenfranchised by Romney as people he clearly did not care for, see eye-to-eye with or worry about at all.  POTUS failed to mention that as well as Bain, the terrible Medicare plan that Romney's Veep Mate has proposed which will be detrimental to the elderly.  POTUS failed to call Romney on so many lies which he (Mitt) told..."say it isn't so, POTUS!"...this was my war cry last night each time the president failed to pounce on this Judas-liar of an opponent.
Nonetheless the evening ended with the president appearing as if he did not want to be there.  Perhaps Romney was just not his equal in his eyes therefore Mr. Obama dismissed him after all, he IS the president.  Hey, dismissive can stand for the letter "D" of the A, B, C's.  Maybe POTUS instead preferred to be spending the night with FLOTUS (Michelle) celebrating their 20th anniversary.  All I know is that POTUS was uninterested and sort of restless.
Whatever the reason for POTUS's decision to allow Romney to 'run the table' as he did could be an ingenious method and/or idea that we (the American voters, political pundits, etc.) just do not see yet.  Maybe POTUS allowed Romney to run the gamut and tell all those lies as a way to allow Mitt to further hang himself so that the "Monday morning quarterbacks" (a.k.a. media spin-masters) and fact-checkers could dwell over that and recall the untruths line by line the next day and for several days to follow until the next debate.  Maybe POTUS with-held so much so as to not appear mean-spirited himself...maybe his reserved nature was to let the pig eat like a pig.
